Teosyal is a natural, injectable filler that can soften deep folds and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It can also be used as a filler for lip injections to give you that full and luscious lips. Its chief ingredient, hyaluronic acid, is already present in your skin and works by absorbing water and binding with collagen and elastin in the skin.

Who’s a Good Candidate?
Patients who want to fill in their wrinkles and folds without resorting to surgery will find that Teosyal is an excellent choice for them. Hyaluronic acid is effective in dealing with issues such as:

• “Smile lines” (from the nose to the corners of the mouth)
• “Marionette lines” (below the mouth)
• Lip augmentation
• Hollow cheeks and other recessed areas
• Chin contouring

Teosyal can often be a substitute for facial contouring procedures when the complaint is too minor to demand surgery.

The procedure only takes about 45 minutes in our clinic, as our beauty technician will identify and mark areas for injection. If necessary, topical anesthetic can be applied for your comfort. Teosyal is injected into the skin using a small needle, and will quickly bind with water beneath the skin to fill out the injection site. Teosyal contains a localized pain reliever so that patients will feel comfortable following the injection.

Results and Aftercare for Teosyal
Possible side effects include redness, pain, and tenderness, as well as some swelling and bruising at the injection site, although these are temporary. As with all injections, there is a slight risk of infection.

You should avoid exposure to the sun, heat, and cold during the first 24 hours after the treatment, as well as abstain from alcohol and exercise. Avoid rubbing the injected area for at least 48 hours. By taking these steps, you will give the hyaluronic acid in the Teosyal time to properly bind with the collagen and elastin fibres in your skin.

While your body will eventually break up the hyaluronic acid and the effects will fade after roughly 6 months to one year, you can contact one of our locations for a touch-up treatment. Repeated treatments will mean that less Teosyal will be required on each occasion
